Johnny went a hopping and a skipping
for he was a happy lad!
His birthday had arrived with a shiny new bike for him to ride.
He ran for his helmet, snapped it tightly around his neck,
for it was time for a ride!
As he started to head outside the door, his smile became a frown.
The rain was tumbling down!
So, instead, he decided to sit down and wait.
Johnny began to imagine himself on his bike.
Oh! the hills he would climb and the curves he would
make as he glided on down the road.
The rain continued on throughout the day and on into the night.
So, Johnny had to wait for another day!

Oh no, poor Johnny! Another great one, Anne.
Sounds like Johnny lives near here, next week is suppose to be rain free though! Hope your week of teaching was a good one, Anne.
Talli, Thanks. I do appreciate your comments. Thanks so much for visiting.
Wanda, this little story was actually written when the rain was coming down! My week of teaching was great! I felt like a real teacher again.
Smiles to you!
Sweet - although I know many a Johnny who would have rode in the rain!
Poor, Johnny! It's raining here today, so he'd have to wait another day.
