The Rain

The rain goes pitter patter
across the window pane
The thunder screams out loud
As the lightning cracks
Like a firecracker in the sky
So nice to be snug and dry inside
With my feet resting upon the bed
For books and writing tools
Are all I need
To pass the time away

You say I have the good life
Perhaps I do
Life brings good fortune
Believing that happiness,
Love and beauty
Will surround the world someday

The Shadow

In the dark of the night
As my eyes were shut
A shadow appeared by the bedpost
My eyes kept looking and looking
To figure out who had come for a visit
Still wondering my body froze with terror
As I called out," Who are you, Who are you?!!!"
The words from the shadow were so very faint
As the shadow moved closer and closer
My voice continued to ring out
Until I awoke, with your strong hand
intertwined with mine!

Since my wedding day
Feelings cannot express
How much your presence meant to me
It was a special day and you were

My heart was all a glow
Keeping those feelings

In the bay with you
Was quite an adventure
